JPS CEO Named ‘Most Powerful Woman in Business’ in Jamaica
She is in charge of the company that powers the nation (literally) and now she has received what many will agree is quite a befitting title.
President and CEO of the Jamaica Public Service Company , Kelly Tomlin has been named the Most Powerful and Influential Woman in Jamaican Business for the year 2016 by Businessuite Magazine.
Tomblin boasts over twenty years of experience in the regulated utility and independent energy sectors in the United States of America and presently leads the Jamaican integrated utility of 606,654 customers, 1,704 employees, and 14,000 km of distribution and transmission lines.
According to Businessuite, the CEO is also known for encouraging women to embrace their role in leadership and ‘Doing Power Differently’.
Other women included on the list include President and CEO of Scotiabank, Jacqueline Sharp as well as Founder and Chairman, The Barita Group, Rita Humphries-Lewin and Founder and CEO, Island Grill, Thalia Lyn.
Businessuite compiled the list by identifying the general size and importance of the woman’s company in the Jamaican economy; the health and direction of the company; the arc of the woman’s career and; societal and cultural influence of the business.
