You Won’t Believe What This Talented Jamaican Can Do! (VIDEO)
It has become a tradition for The Jamaican Blogs™ to highlight talented Jamaicans and we especially love to feature young people.
Today we shine a spotlight on a young film-maker who is definitely destined to make it big.
20-year-old Mario Allen is making quite a name for himself for the incredible videos and short films he creates.
The immensely talented youngster who specializes in Jamaican Sci-fi has won best mobile film 2 years in a row at the annual Lignum, Vitae Film Festival held at the Northern Caribbean University.
Remarkably, his 5-year-old brother who he incorporates in many of his productions has also been named best actor for his roles in said films.
Allen hails from Mandeville, Manchester and developed a love for filmmaking a little less than two years ago while doing a media programme via HEART Trust/NTA.
He is a student and protégé of media professional David Martin but he also owns his own independent film group called Lone Wolf Films.
Martin, a Digital Animation Instructor at HEART’s Southwest TVET Institute realised Mario had enormous talent and an abundance of creativity shortly after taking him under his tutelage and helped him to hone his skills.
Mario is particularly good with special effects. He utilises software such as Adobe After Effects to add awesome computer generated visuals to his productions.

Allen is extremely dedicated to his craft and is willing to go the extra mile to achieve his dreams and aspirations.
Prior to winning his awards for best mobile film, he dedicated months and many sleepless nights to his productions.
Despite having already achieved moderate success and a fair level of recognition for his films, Allen says this is only the beginning.
He has major productions planned and hopes to remembered for his productions many years to come.
“This is just the beginning, the tip of the iceberg. We are coming with new things that will make people remember us. In 10,20, 30 years, people can say – How could I ever forget that person? How could I ever forget that movie, that video,” stated Allen while speaking with The Jamaican Blogs™.
Lone Wolf Films is presently working on a short film which Allen hopes will attract massive exposure. It will be available via DVD.
