Top European Football Clubs Eager to Snatch Up Jamaican Teenager
Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly among several European football clubs currently expressing a keen interest in attaining the services of the talented Jamaican teenage winger Leon Bailey.
Bailey currently plays for Genk which is currently 5th in Belgian Pro League.
Surprisingly, the youngster received several offers from all over Europe, including from Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam and Chelsea, but rejected all offers last August to join the Belgian top-flight outfit.
He does have some ties to Chelsea despite not having a formal agreement with the club.
Chelsea transfers adviser Piet de Visser reportedly stated:
“I essentially know him through my colleagues, I’ve only seen him on tape. But he’s a top talent. His technique is excellent and he’s so fast. I’m curious to see how he’ll perform. He now has to show what he’s really worth. In each case, he has everything to succeed.”
The talented winger has age on his side as well.
Thought he is currently tied to the Belgian outfit until 2018, he will have a plethora of opportunities following his tenure there if he continues to impress.
Bailey scored 4 goals in 29 appearances this season.
