Jamaica to Face Costa Rica in Crucial World Cup Qualifying Game
Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz will be aiming for a positive result when they face Costa Rica in a crucial world cup qualifying game at the National Stadium on Good Friday, March 25.
Between the years 1963 and 2015, Costa Rica has won Jamaica on 12 occasions, drawn 10 times and lost only 4 times.
Following the upcoming game on Good Friday, the ‘Boyz’ will travel to San Jose, Costa Rica on March 29 for the return match.
The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) made extensive efforts to change the date of the match as it is to be held on a day considered sacred by many Jamaicans but was unsuccessful as FIFA promptly stated that a change of date was not possible because the 2016 International Match Calendar had been approved since 2013.
Jamaica is currently third in Group B of the world cup qualifiers with 3 points.
Costa Rica sits comfortably atop the group with 6 points while Panama also has 3 points.
Haiti has 1 point.
The last time Jamaica faced Costa Rica was at the 2015 Concacaf Gold Cup. That encounter ended in a 2-2 draw.
