Ikon Sets Up Camping Tent Outside Irie FM, Wants His Music to Receive Airplay
The dancehall artiste who goes by the name Ikon is at it again!
Two years ago, the aspiring entertainer climbed a transmission tower located at the ZIP FM radio station and threatened to jump if his music was not played.
His efforts were eventually rewarded when the station made the decision to play his music.
This time, he has chosen a different tactic to achieve the same result.
He has set up a camp site outside the headquarters of Irie FM in Ocho Rios, St Ann.
According to The Star, Ikon stated:
“I’m at the gate. If you a go in, you haffi see me, if you come out yuh haffi see me. Me have me camping tent, me have radio, food, CD. Anything you bring go pon camping a it me have out yah.”
“A work me a work really but me just a do di live in work. Me waan know every disc jock a Irie FM and give dem a CD. Every DJ no work one day and a Portmore me live. Me cyaan afford dem expensive hotel yah a Ochi so me jus camp out,” he stated.
Me no business wah people waan say bout me. Me jus determine say me haffi get my goal. This time me nah go bout it so extreme. Rotation a me goal. The first time dem say the quality a me music neva match dem standard but right now, me quality way up,” he also stated.
