7th Person Dies After Contracting Swine Flu

Another person has died in Jamaica after contracting the H1N1 (Swine Flu) virus.

Health Minister, Dr Christopher Tufton reportedly confirmed the death yesterday.

According to the Gleaner, The Ministry of Health is to issue a detailed update today (March 29), which will also include the number of Zika cases in Jamaica.

Last week, the government confirmed that there were five cases of the virus on the island.

Tufton indicated that additional cases of the virus were likely as more samples are sent for testing at the Virology Laboratory at the University of the West Indies.
