VIDEO: Prime Minister Promises to Give JLP a ‘Good Whipping’
After being nominated to contest the South West St Andrew constituency against the JLP’s Victor Hyde in the February 25 general election, Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller yesterday made some comments about the leader of Jamaica Labour Party Andrew Holness.
According to the Gleaner, Simpson Miller has cut off ‘familial’ ties with JLP Leader Andrew Holness.
In former times the Prime Minister would refer to Andrew Holness her son.
“He is now a big man, but if he was my child, he would have been behaving differently,” aid the Prime Minister.
“He is no longer my son. I still love him, but he is not my son.”
The JLP has labelled Simpson Miller’s PNP the worst government since Independence, saying that it is wicked and uncaring.
The Prime Minister also stated that the complaints from the JLP stem from them knowing that they cannot win the election:
“They were calling for us to call the election, and now that we called it, they are complaining. What is their problem? Is it because they can’t win why they have a problem?
“They have been saying we should call election; I listened. I called it. I give them what they want. Now what is it now they want from me? The only thing I am going to do now is give them a good whipping the night of the elections,” Simpson Miller said.
