Half-Million Dollar Reward Offered for Missing Police Boat

One of ten police boats that were handed over to the Jamaica Constabulary Force last year by the US embassy to aid in the country’s fight against crime at sea has been stolen.

According to Loop News, the grey 28-foot Boston Whaler boat with ‘JCF 282’ written on the side, and fitted with two 200-horsepower Yamaha engines was last seen on Wednesday, February 10 about 10:30 pm., and was discovered missing the following Thursday at about 10:00 am.

A reward of $500,000 is currently being offered for information leading to the recovery of the vessel.

The police are appealing to anyone with information that can assist with the investigations to contact the Marine Police Headquarters at 923-9728, the Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) Headquarters at 922-4487, the police 119 emergency number, Crime Stop at 311 or 811, or the nearest police station.

  

The boat was docked in Negril Westmoreland when it was discovered missing.
