For the First Time Ever! – Jamaican Male Diver Qualifies For the Olympics
Jamaica recently had it’s very first representative at a Winter Youth Olympics courtesy of 17-year-old Daniel Mayhew and now another Jamaican athlete has secured a place in the record books.
He was prepared and ready to give his all to become the first Jamaican male diver to earn a spot at the Olympics, and on Sunday (February 21), he did just that.
According to Team Jamaica, Yona Knight-Wisdom made history after scoring 397 in the 3M dive in the prelims at FINA Diving World Cup in Rio de Janeiro.
Yona Knight-Wisdom, who trains with Team GB, was also through in 17th place to secure his Olympics participation.
