“I Can Get Better” – World’s Fastest Man Believes He Can Go Even Faster Over 200m!
Usain Bolt turns 30 this year and is still troubled by scoliosis (a sideways curvature of the spine that occurs most often during the growth spurt just before puberty) but he maintains a positive outlook and believes he has a lot more to offer.
The Rio Olympic Games will begin on Friday, August 5 and the six time Olympic champion will be eager to successfully defend the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay gold medals he won almost four years ago in London.
Bolt is not being secretive with his aspirations.
He wants more gold medals and to run a sub 19 second time in the 200m.
According to a recent report by the Gleaner, Bolt stated:
“I personally think that I can get better. I haven’t had a good season since 2009, a season that I haven’t gone without injuries or problems, so if I can get through on a clear note, then anything is possible.”
“It’s all about staying positive.”
“I think I am more focused because over the years I have seen ways where I can improve, and that’s why I have always said that I am more likely to run faster over the 200m because I see where I can improve and I have talked to my coach, so it’s possible,” Bolt added.
“It’s all about staying injury-free and staying on top of things and trying to get through the season and push myself towards my targets.”
Do you think Bolt can improve on his current world record in the 200m?
