Renowned Fashion Magazine Vogue Gets ‘High on Jamaica’
Renowned fashion and lifestyle magazine Vogue was apparently on a Jamaican cultural high last week when they published at least 15 articles featuring the island and its culture.
The articles focused on the island’s music, artistes, models and ways in which Jamaica has influenced the world.
Some of the artistes featured included, Protoje, Chronixx, Kabaka Pyramid, Kelissa among others.
Also featured in the flood of Jamaican articles was the founder of Saint International Deiwght Peters along with models from his model agency including Tami Williams and Kai Newman who have previously appeared in Vogue.
Now Vogue couldn’t pay homage to Jamaica without featuring top models from the island. Jamaican models Grace Jones, Nadine Willis and Stacey Mckenzie received glowing tributes for being trail blazers on the international stage of fashion.
This is not the first time that Jamaican-focused articles have been written by Vogue but Wednesday’s group of articles represents the biggest feature done on Jamaica by the popular magazine.
