Drought Plaguing Caribbean Expected to Worsen
Jamaica and several other countries in the Caribbean have been plagued by drought this year and if the forecasts from a recently released report prove to be accurate, persons in this region can expect to face a lot more ‘dryness’ for some time.
According to the Gleaner, a report by the Associated Press claims forecasters believe the El Nino weather phenomenon is gathering strength and will continue to warm the tropical Pacific until early next year.
This means that there will be scattered rainfall for the region as the annual dry season approaches.
According to forecasters from the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology, the region is enjoying a period of relief but also warned that the current wet season will likely end before the usual date of November 30.
