45-Yr-Old Lab Tech Arrested After Allegedly Having Sex With Grade 9 Student
A 45-year-old lab technician at a high school in St Catherine was arrested after he was allegedly caught having sex with a grade nine student at the institution on Monday.
According to the Gleaner, the technician who is also a lay preacher has been charged with having sexual intercourse with a person under 16-years of age.
Since the beginning of 2015, he is now the third individual responsible for the care and custody of children to be arrested in the parish of St Catherine for having sex with a minor The Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse said.
The student reportedly informed one of her friends that she was heading to a classroom after sitting an exam and would return soon.
After taking a long time to return her friends reportedly went in search of her and claim they saw the student and the lab technician having sex.
The technician was subsequently arrested after the police was called.
