Jamaica’s ‘Axeman’ Still Unbeaten After Victory Over Marriaga (Video)
Despite losing his world title after failing to make weight on Friday, Jamaica’s ‘Axeman’ – Nicholas Walters beat the previously unbeaten Colombian fighter Miguel Marriage in the WBA Super featherweight title fight Saturday night in New York.
Walters proved to be one tough ‘Axe’ soaking up a few solid blows to earn a respectable victory over Marriaga on points.
The scores on the judge’s card were: 119-108, 118-109 and 117-110.
Though Walters remains unbeaten as a professional boxer, Marriaga did beat Walters in an amateur bout in Guatemala in 2008.
