STETHS Teacher Suspected Victim of Suicide
Counselling sessions have been scheduled for students and staff of the St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) in Santa Cruz following the suspected suicide of one of its teachers.
According to the Observer, the victim Diane Vassell is approximately 38-years-old and was described as a very quiet and humble person who was very approachable by the school’s Principal Keith Wellington.
Vassell was a teacher of Social Studies and Mathematics.
She had been reportedly showing signs of depression and there are speculations that her struggles may have been related to a life changing surgery she had some time ago.
Police report that they were summoned to a home in Malvern yesterday morning and when they arrived, discovered Vassell’s lifeless body hanging in the bathroom.
