Jamaican Medical Student Joins the Detroit Lions
23-year-old Jamaican medical student Laken Tomlinson is now a member of the Detroit Lions football team based in the state of Michigan in the United States.
This after he was recently picked by the Lions in the first round of the NFL draft.
Tomlinson migrated to the United States at age 10 and started growing rapidly. Within his first year in the country his height increased by a whopping 7 inches and his weight by 80 pounds.
His height and weight now stand at 6 ft 3 inches and 323 pounds respectively.
He attended the prestigious Duke University where he wasted no time to jump into the medical field. While at duke he managed to practice football while shadowing neurosurgeons at Duke University Hospital.
Despite his tremendous achievements in life thus far, he wants to do more.
After losing his grandfather in the 10th grade, he never got over the fact that his grandfather might not have died had he had more access to better medical care. So while football is going to be a profitable, if not necessarily pleasant, distraction for Tomlinson, his real work still lies ahead.
