“Fundamental issues need to be corrected” Says MP Dayton Campbell after constituent asks for help to buy car
Just how inappropriate is it for someone to ask a member of parliament for assistance to purchase a motor vehicle?
And should an MP ever offer that kind of assistance even if they expect nothing in return?
Many Jamaicans are of the belief that ‘special’ incentives are regularly given by politicians to earn votes.
On Thursday Member of Parliament for St Ann North Western, Dr Dayton Campbell tweeted a screenshot which showed a part of a conversation he was having with a constituent.
During the conversation the person asked him for help to buy a car.
“Giving you a peak into the life of an MP. How do you effect change? A lot of fundamental issues need to be corrected”, said Dr Campbell.
