US President Barack Obama Arrives in Jamaica
At 7:31 pm United States President Barack Obama arrived in Jamaica.
His visit makes this the second time a sitting US president has graced our island’s shores.
Shortly after his arrival he departed via helicopter to the Jamaica Defence Force’s headquarters, Up Park Camp.
It will be a short and busy trip for the head of the free world.
He will engage in numerous activities including talks with Caricom heads and the Jamaican government.
He is also expected to visit our National Heroes Park.
Mr. Obama was greeted by Governor General Sir Patrick Allen and Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller on his arrival.
