Local Committee Claims Children are Being Sold as Sex Slaves in Ocho Rios
Children as young as 8-years-old are being sold as sex slaves by their parents at a location close to the Ocho Rios Market in St Ann.
This shocking claim was made by a local committee carrying out a child labour survey in the parish at recent St. Ann Parish Council meeting.
According to Irie FM, Chairman of the St. Ann Parish Development Committee (PDC) Anthony Charley, told the council that there was a growing sex trafficking ring taking place at an informal settlement, close to the Ocho Rios Market.
He also stated the alleged sex trade was discovered during a survey authorized by the Child Development Agency (CDA).
Mr. Charley also said some parents have been allegedly taking children to trade sex for money.
The St. Ann Police have also denied having any report of such activity taking place at the back of the Ocho Rios Market.
Superintendent of Police for St. Ann, Steve Brown, said the allegations are untrue and were not brought to the attention of the police.
I find it hard to believe something like is happening in Jamaica. We always do everything to protect our children. Then again the end time is here. When I was growing up I remember heard about pink house, a whore house for adult. I hope this is just a rumor.
I hope this is not true Jamaica?
It is possible. …and may be well concealed.maybe the reason why d police claim they haven’t heard of it is because some of them are behind it. I mean they aren’t saints and this world we live in is a very harsh one. I hope it isn’t true though no child should endure that.
