Jamaica’s ‘Axeman’ 2nd in World’s Top Featherweight Boxers
A recent ranking by Dan Rafael of ESPN.com lists Jamaica’s Nicholas ‘Axeman’ Walters as the second best Featherweight boxer in the world.
According to Rafael in his notes, Walters, who is undefeated after 25 fights, looked sensational in his second title defense last May when he dropped former two-division title-holder Vic Darchinyan twice and scored a booming fifth-round knockout.
He looked even better Oct. 18 when he knocked Nonito Donaire down for the first two times in his career and starched him in the sixth round to take his world title. The knockout was Walters’ 11th in his past 12 fights.
