One more Shot for Anita on The Voice!

Jamaican born songstress, Anita Antoinette will have one final opportunity to compete in the season 7 finals of NBC’s popular reality TV singing competition The Voice.

For the first time in the history of the competition, all contestants in the Top 12 eliminated prior to the top three round will be invited back for a wildcard competition.

The winner of this wildcard competition will earn a spot as a finalist.

Having reached the top 10 of the competition, Anita automatically earned a second opportunity to win a spot in the show’s finale. This also means that for this season there will be four finalists instead of the traditional three.

Anita was rumored to be scheduled to perform with former winner of The Voice Tessanne Chin at a tree-lighting concert being held by the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation (KSAC). In a recent statement, it was announced that Anita would not be able to do the show, but she is eager to  return to Jamaica as soon as possible.

“Although Anita would love to be a part of this event, she will be in Los Angeles gearing up for the wild card round of The Voice,” the statement read. “She wants to assure her fans that she will soon make it to her beloved island.”

Don’t forget to vote during the wildcard round.  It airs Monday December 8th at 8 pm on NBC.
