US Plane crashes near Jamaica!

According to a report by The Guardian a private jet crashed off Jamaica on Friday (September 5) after the pilots apparently lost consciousness, caused by what US military officials believe was a catastrophic loss of cabin pressure.

Two F15 fighter jets were launched from a US base to investigate the aircraft, which was scheduled to land in Florida but which was spotted flying unresponsive over the Caribbean.

It travelled more than 1,700 miles.

Norad, the North American air defense authority, which directed the response, said the occupants of the small, single-propeller plane, a Socata TBM-700, did not respond to attempts to communicate.

Major Basil Jarrett of the Jamaican Defense Force said the plane went down about 14 miles north-east of Port Antonio and the military sent aircraft to investigate.

“We can confirm that the plane has gone down,” he said. There was no immediate information about the people on board.
