17-yr-old Jamaican ‘Whiz Kid’ earns an astounding 19 CSEC Subjects!

It is always wonderful to see young persons excel and we really love to highlight some of Jamaica’s phenomenal achievers.

Young Nile Anderson, a student of the Manning’s School in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland began earning CSEC  passes at a stage of life when most high school students are just beginning to ponder which subjects they would like to sit.

According to a report from the Gleaner, the brilliant 17-year-old sat 16 subjects in 2014 and the three others before – while he was merely in second and third form – copping two grade ones and a grade two.

Of the 19 subjects, Nile, who is now on his way to sixth form, secured 15 grade ones and four twos in the process.

The bright teen has admitted that he was driven to this feat by bouts of uncertainty and indecision.

Despite his successes so far, he still remains undecided about his career direction.

This is what he told The Gleaner:

“I am still somewhat undecided because I had been considering medicine as I can handle biology and chemistry, but I am leaning towards mathematics”.

The young man is also considering  pursuing a career in engineering, or in a similar field.

The sky is the only limit for this young man.
