Jamaica’s increased toll rates will take effect July 5
New toll rates have been approved and will see Jamaican motorists paying increases, ranging from $10 to $100 depending on the class of vehicle, and the leg of the highway.
The new rates become effective on Saturday, July 5.
Class one vehicles on the Vineyards Leg of Highway 2000 will pay $330, up from $310.
While, for class two vehicles on that leg, the toll rate will see a $40 increase, making it $470.
And, toll rates for class three vehicles using the vineyards leg will see the biggest increase of $100. Motorists will pay $890.
For the Spanish Town leg, class one vehicles will see an increase of $10 making it $120.
A $20 increase has been added to class two vehicles for the same leg, making it $180 come July 5.
While, it will cost $330, up from $300 for class three vehicles on the Spanish Town leg.
For the Portmore leg of Highway 2000, it will cost $170 dollars up from $150.
The cost for class two vehicles on that leg will be $260, up from $230.
And $520 will be the rate for class three vehicles using the Portmore leg, a $70 increase.
Finally, for class one vehicles traversing the May Pen leg, it will be $10 more, up from $70.
While, it will cost $130, up from $110 for class two vehicles using that leg.
And, $250, up from $200 for class three vehicles on the May Pen leg.
