Jamaica to do battle with Egypt today

Reggae Boyz train hardJamaica’s national football team, the Reggae Boyz began training on Sunday for it’s upcoming encounter with Egypt  at the West Ham FC training ground.

There have been some changes made to the squad that went down 1-0 to Switzerland last Friday.

Norwich City striker Jamar Loza has joined the squad whilst Montego Bay United center forward Dino Williams leaves the island this evening at 5:00pm to join the delegation. Goalkeeper Ryan Thompson who has played for Jamaica at the Under 20 level and has played in Europe and presently in the North American Soccer League, will also join the camp tomorrow.

In the meantime players, Demar Phillips, Darren Mattocks, Dwayne Miller and Andre Blake had to return to their respective clubs.

Egypt’s coach Shawky Gharib will use this game to continue experimenting with many new players.

Head coach for the Reggae Boyz Winfried Schaefer is hoping for a good performance; I hope after the match everybody will be pleased with how well Jamaica can play football. I hope we make the next step (on the road to progress), and play better than against Switzerland and not at that same level,” he said.

The match kicks off today (June 4) at 2:00 pm Jamaica time.

It will be broadcast  live on Television Jamaica.

This should be an exciting encounter!
