Mexicans arrive for Reggae Boyz Encounter
Champions of CONCACAF Mexico arrived in the island yesterday for today’s big World Cup qualifying clash against the Reggae Boyz at the National Stadium.
The Mexicans who arrived on a charter flight had their lone training session on the National Stadium pitch at 6:30 pm on Monday.
Today’s game is scheduled to start at 8:30 pm and will be watched by Jamaica’s next opponents the United States who are scheduled to arrive on today for their game on Friday.
Coach Theodore Whitmore is expected to make at least five changes to the starting eleven from the last game against Costa Rica which they lost 2-0.
This as Jermaine Taylor, Demar Phillips, Joby McAnuff, Lloyd Doyley and Luton Shelton are out are the squad to add to Nyron Nosworthy who was out after the Panama game because of injury and Jermaine Johnson who is out on yellow cards.
Daniel Gordon is expected to get his first World Cup start in this encounter while Jermaine Hue, O’brian Woodbine and Omar Daley could find their way into the starting team.
The eleven could be completed by captained Donavan Ricketts, Adrian Mariappa, Marvin Elliot, Rudolf Austin, Gareth McLeary, Ryan Johnson and Jermaine Beckford.
