It should therefore come as no surprise that an increasing number of people appear to be brainstorming ways to supplement their wages via the internet.

And the proliferation of internet access across the island has provided many Jamaicans with opportunities to earn a little extra on the side. The beauty of working online is that it affords persons to work at a time of their choosing from the comfort of their own homes. 

You’ve probably witnessed the meteoric rise of  several youngsters who use platforms such as YouTube to make decent earnings. Content creation is burgeoning on YouTube and other similar platforms. Persons upload videos on topics they are passionate about and earn via advertisements as they continue to build a following.

Making bets online via an online casino is another way many persons bolster their earnings. This is perhaps one of the quickest methods to potentially earn some extra cash at home. 

Websites such as Fiverr allow their users to provide practically any service online – from doing voice overs for commercials to managing massive marketing campaigns for companies. Once good value can be provided, money can be earned. There are literally thousands of employers looking to hire persons to complete a wide array of tasks.

If you’re a great writer, consider writing an Ebook. A significant amount of effort will probably be required initially but the potential passive income that can be generated from the sales of an awesome book should be a motivating factor. Books can be sold via platforms such as Apple’s iTunes or Amazon’s Kindle program.

Taking part in surveys is another option worth exploring. Decent earnings can be made by simply completing online surveys or products tests.

Get Paid to test websites – There are numerous companies that actually pay individuals to share their thoughts, whether good or bad on websites. UserTesting is a great place to start. According to their website, users get $10 via PayPal for every 20-minute video they complete. UserTesting pays you to visit websites or apps, complete a set of tasks, and speak your thoughts aloud.

If you fancy yourself to be a great teacher, consider becoming an online tutor. As an online tutor, you can choose your own schedule and limit or entirely avoid face to face interactions if you so choose. Of course you will need to market your courses to make people aware of what you have to offer.
