PM Makes Historic trip to Israel!

On Thursday (January 12) Prime Minister Andrew Holness met with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem.

A short clip of the meeting was recently shared on the Prime Minister’s Facebook page.

The video was captioned as follows:

“Jamaica, like Israel, is a strong democracy, and we have long admired the advances that Israel has made in technology, in particularly in cyber security and in agriculture, and in other areas. The potential for cooperation between our two countries is great and Jamaica is very interested in exploring those areas of cooperation.”

On Tuesday, the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) stated in a news release that the Prime Minister’s visit is a result of an invitation to Jamaica, which was issued several months ago.

The OPM also stated that the visit is part of Prime Minister Holness’ commitment to seek opportunities for Jamaica through deepened bilateral relations with various countries.

The Prime Minister is to return to the island on Sunday (January 15).
