Jamaican Teacher Accused of Sexually Assaulting Male Student in US Classroom

A Jamaican teacher in Bridgeport, Connecticut (USA) was arrested earlier this month for allegedly sexually assaulting a student.

The accused is 43-year-old Robert-Seaga Johnson.

According to NBC Connecticut, Johnson, who worked as a long-term substitute teacher at Harding High School, is accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old male student in a classroom in March.

Police in the US say Johnson was an employee of Source4Teachers, a New Jersey-based company that contracts substitute teachers to the City of Bridgeport’s Board of Education.

He is charged with 4th degree sex assault.

Fourth degree sexual assault is defined as sexual contact with an individual who has not given consent. It is considered a Class A misdemeanor and is not considered a violent sexual assault. Sexual contact in a fourth degree sexual assault consists of intentionally touching intimate areas of the body and/or penetration with the hands.

He is reportedly being held on a $75,000 bond and has a court appearance scheduled for August 4.
