#IAmRunning – Lisa Hanna Wants to be PNP Vice President

Member of Parliament for South East St Ann and former Culture Minister Lisa Hanna has disclosed that she is interested in becoming one of the four vice presidents for the People’s National Party in September.

Ms Hanna posted the following via social media on Sunday (May 29):

“I want to help build a Party that gives our group membership real ownership and benefits. I want to help build a Party that is not afraid to step out into the world and declare, that we will shape this country, and our people, so that people from all over will want to move to Jamaica rather than move out of Jamaica. I want to help build a Party that ensures that we take bold, and progressive foreign policy steps and point out to other countries that they would be honoured to have our people visit based on our history of courage, and tenacity.

I want to help build a party that is strong and resolute in including all classes, races, educational backgrounds. I want to help build a Party that is more accountable and transparent to the delegates and people of Jamaica and uses modern management principles, I want to build a Party that practices a build-up politics, rather than a “tear down cut throat stab you in the back” politics.

That’s why I will be running for one of the 4 Vice President positions in the People’s National Party come this September.

Earlier this year Hanna sparked widespread debates with harsh criticisms of Paul Burke in an online posting, that strongly indicated her desire to see him removed from the gen-sec position.

She also stated  the party has lost its way.
