“I’m Honoured to Be Compared to Usain Bolt” Says US Football Player (Video)

When US football player Cam Newton was told that to many people in the Caribbean, he is to the NFL what Jamaica’s Usain Bolt is to the Olympics, you could almost see his head swell with delight.

“Whaaaat? Really? I got the opportunity to meet Usain last year… he’s a cool guy, he’s like real cool, like internationally cool, i’m just local cool you know. Usain is…he is Jamaican you know what i’m saying so that’s an honour. I take my hat off to people who have been exceptional role models in their specific fields”

Newton is the quarterback for the Carolina Panthers of the US National Football League (NFL)

Newton is the only player in the modern era to, within a one-year span, be awarded the Heisman Trophy, win a national championship, and become the first overall pick in an NFL draft. He was the 2011 NFL Rookie of the Year, is a 3 time Pro Bowler, and was named to the NFL All Pro First Team in 2015.
