Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship Catches Fire in Jamaica

A Royal Caribbean cruise ship that departed Port Canaveral in Florida over the weekend caught fire in Falmouth today (July 22).

The ship was reportedly carrying 4,000 passengers when the blaze started as it arrived at the Falmouth pier in the parish of Trelawny.

According to Miami-based Royal Caribbean International, onboard fire suppression equipment successfully put out the fire.

Passengers were also evacuated of what Royal Caribbean described as an abundance of caution.

The company says the ship is docked in Falmouth and all systems are operating normally.

There have been no reports of injuries.
