REID IS A NATIVE OF THE BEAUTIFUL ENTICING CARIBBEAN ISLAND OF JAMAICA WHERE ART COMES ALIVE!
I was born in the parish of St Ann Jamaica on January 31 1984 and grew up in the neighboring parish of St Mary.
I am a self taught artist who specializes in Landscape paintings but enjoy figurative, still life, flora/fauna, abstracts and portraits as well. I started my artistic journey since I was just about 5 years old that’s as far as I can remember my art going. I began drawing from colouring books and comic strips from the newspaper and fairy tale books. My fascination further led me to start drawing and painting on the walls of the house and my room and of course I was often punished by scrubbing off my own messes.
I however started painting officially as an adult in 2004 and in 2006 I won a gold medal in the JCDC’s (Jamaica Cultural Development Commission’s) National competition and exhibition, as an amateur entrant. I then used that as my cue to continue with a professional art career. Since then my work has been shown in a number galleries across the island. I have has also participated in numerous group shows and auctions locally and internationally. Over the years my work has evolved into my own signature style where my critics and enthusiasts easily identify my work. I am now esteemed as one of the Nations most promising young artists.
I believe there’s no Limit to where my paints and brushes may take me and i’m up for the Ride!
