Reggae Boyz Name 23-Man Squad for Crucial Nations League Clash Against Mexico

Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz are preparing for a major test against regional powerhouse Mexico, with interim head coach Rudolph Speid announcing a 23-man squad for the upcoming Concacaf Nations League quarterfinals.
The two countries will battle over two legs, with Jamaica hosting the opening encounter at the National Stadium in St Andrew on November 14. The teams will then travel to Monterrey, where the decisive second leg is scheduled for November 17 at the Estadio BBVA.
Beyond securing a place in the Nations League semifinals, the stakes are particularly high, as the winner of the quarterfinal tie will also earn automatic qualification for the 2027 Concacaf Gold Cup.
Speid has largely maintained continuity in his selection, retaining 16 players who were involved in the October international window.
However, the squad also features some notable additions, including Rotherham United’s Denzel Hall, who is the only player receiving his first senior national call-up.
Mount Pleasant’s Warner Brown has also earned a return to the national setup following an extended period away from international football.
Despite the importance of the upcoming fixtures, Speid is under no illusion about the difficulty of the challenge facing his team.
The interim head coach acknowledged Mexico’s quality and stressed the importance of securing a favourable outcome against one of international football’s strongest opponents.
“Mexico are really a good team, but a positive result against them is very important,” Speid said.
The squad features several established national representatives, including captain and goalkeeper Andre Blake, experienced defender Damion Lowe and midfielder Kevon Lambert.
Blake is joined by Amal Knight and Jahmali Waite as the three goalkeeping options.
Defensive selections include Miguel Freckleton, Richard King, Joel Latibeaudiere and Ronaldo Webster, alongside Christopher Ainsworth, Denzel Hall, Damion Lowe and Kyle Ming.
The midfield group consists of Karoy Anderson, Courtney Clarke, Brandon Cover, Tyrese Hall, Kevon Lambert and Dwight Merrick.
Meanwhile, Jamaica’s attacking options include Warner Brown, Tyreece Campbell, Renaldo Cephas, Kaheim Dixon, Javon East and Khori Bennett.
With the opening fixture being played on home soil, the Reggae Boyz will have an opportunity to establish an advantage before travelling to Mexico for the return encounter.
The two matches will determine whether Jamaica advances to the Nations League semifinals while simultaneously securing a place at the 2027 Gold Cup.
