Rangers FC Monitoring Jamaican Defender Richard King

Scottish Premiership giants Rangers FC are reportedly eyeing a move for Jamaican defender Richard King as they look to strengthen their squad under manager Philippe Clement.

The club’s technical director, Nils Koppen, is actively scouting talent, with the 23-year-old Cavalier SC captain emerging as a potential addition.

Standing at 6’2″, King has attracted significant attention from European clubs in recent months.

He previously gained European experience during a season-long loan with Icelandic outfit IBV Vestmannaeyjar in 2023.

His performances have also caught the interest of English Premier League sides, including West Ham United, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Brighton.

Currently second in the Scottish Premiership and trailing rivals Celtic by more than 10 points, Rangers are keen to bolster their defensive options.

King, who has been capped 19 times by Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz and was part of the squad for last year’s Copa America, could provide valuable depth and versatility to the team.

The Cavalier skipper’s growing reputation as a leader and consistent performer highlights his potential to succeed at a higher level, making him a notable prospect for the Glasgow-based club.
