Jamaican Striker Trivante Stewart Makes Highly Anticipated Debut for Italian Serie A Club Salernitana!
Former Mount Pleasant striker Trivante Stewart made his highly anticipated debut in the Italian Serie A yesterday.
However, Stewart’s team, Sportiva Salernitana, faced a tough challenge as they suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of former champions Inter Milan.
Stewart, donning the number 19 jersey, entered the field as a substitute in the 79th minute when his team was trailing by two goals.
Inter Milan secured their victory with a remarkable performance, thanks to Argentina striker Lautaro Martinez.
Martinez scored crucial goals in the 85th and 89th minutes, sealing a four-goal outing for Inter.
With this win, Inter now leads the Serie A standings with 18 points, edging ahead of their city rivals AC Milan on goal difference. AC Milan also had a successful outing, defeating Lazio 2-0.
Meanwhile, defending champions Napoli are closely behind in third place, with 14 points, following their impressive 4-0 victory over Lecce.
As for Salernitana, they find themselves in a challenging 19th place with just 3 points to their name.
They will look to bounce back when they face Monza in their next fixture scheduled for October 8.
