Climate Activists Vandalise 46 Billion Dollar SuperYacht Flying Jamaican Flag in Spain

In a recent incident in Ibiza, Spain, two climate activists were apprehended by the police after spray-painting a US $300 million super yacht (JMD $46 billion) owned by Walmart heiress Nancy Walton Laurie.

The 360-foot vessel, named Kaos, proudly displayed the Jamaican flag as it was moored when the protesters from Futuro Vegetal took action on July 16.

Using modified fire extinguishers, the activists, captured in video footage, splattered red and black paint onto the stern of the yacht while deckhands frantically attempted to wash it off.

Undeterred, the protesters boldly raised a sign stating, “You Consume, Others Suffer,” before engaging in a conversation with a security guard.

Despite efforts to cleanse the stained stern, the yacht departed from the harbour with visible remnants of the incident. This event joins a series of disruptive acts orchestrated by eco-activists across Europe, targeting prominent figures and major sporting events in their campaign for change.

In a  video, the two activists can be seen holding the sign and calling for action. The first activist emphasizes the toll of human lives lost in the Mediterranean Sea, revealing that 951 people have already perished while attempting to reach their desired destinations.

Drawing attention to the stark contrast between wealth and hardship, the activist proclaims, “We cannot afford to be rich, these people [migrants] did not travel here in a private yacht.”

The second activist follows suit saying:

“One per cent of the world population pollutes more than the 50 per cent of poor people, they’re destroying our planet, endangering the habitability of our land to have a lifestyle that is beyond reasonable limits.

“They are condemning us to a future of pain, misery, and desolation only to keep their privileges.”
