Jamaicans head back to work today as restrictions are being gradually lifted to allow thousands of nationals stranded overseas to return home.
Minister of Health and Wellness – Dr Christopher Tufton is however urging urging Jamaicans to remain vigilant in their infection prevention and control measures to reduce the risk of exposure to the coronavirus.
Via a release, Dr Tufton said everyone must understand that as more persons return from overseas, the island’s positive cases will increase and there will also be increased likelihood of spread at the community level.
He also reiterated the need for the public at large to practice social distancing, avoid crowds, and to wash hands frequently.
