16th Coronavirus Case Confirmed In Jamaica
Jamaica’s tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases has rise to 16.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness made the revelation while speaking in the House of Representatives on Thursday.
The patient arrived in the island from New York on March 10 and was isolated at St. Ann’s Bay Hospital on March 17.
The community of Corn Piece in Hayes, Clarendon has also been placed under quarantine for a period of 14 days in a bid to curtail the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The quarantine period will allow public health investigations to be completed.
Globally there are over a quarter million confirmed cases of coronavirus disease and at least 10,000 deaths related to the disease.
To date, there has been one COVID-19 related death in Jamaica.
