Usain Bolt Among Highest Paid Athletes Globally For 2018 – Forbes
Usain Bolt’s legendary exploits on the track have made him one of the most easily recognisable and marketable humans on the planet.
And despite being retired, the world’s fastest man is expected to continue to rake in the big bucks for many years to come.
Bolt has been named in a list of the world’s highest paid athletes for 2018 by Forbes.
According to Forbes, Bolt raked in a total of US$31 million – of which US$30 million came via endorsements and US$1 million via salary. Bolt is 45th on the list of 100 athletes.
American boxer Floyd Mayweather tops the list with US$285 million.
Argentinian striker Lionel Messi is in a distant second with $US111 million in total earnings with Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo third with $US108 million.
Irish professional mixed martial artist and boxer Conor McGregor is fourth with US$99 million with the Brazilian footballer Neymar in fifth with US$90 million.
The top 10 is rounded off by Lebron James (6th with US$85.5 million), Roger Federer (7th with US$77.2 million), Stephen Curry (8th with US$76.9 million), Matt Ryan (9th with US$67.3 million followed by Matther Stafford who earned US$59.5 million.
