Reggae Boyz – Top Ranked Caribbean Team on Latest FIFA Rankings
Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz have regained their bragging rights as the highest ranked team in the Caribbean.
The latest iteration of FIFA/Coca Cola Rankings has Jamaica in 76th place.
And Jamaica is once again the highest placed Caribbean team despite dropping a place from 75th in October’s rankings.
Jamaica recently defeated Suriname 1-0 to earn a spot in the semi finals of the Caribbean Cup and a place in next year’s prestigious Gold Cup.
Trinidad and Tobago who dropped 13 spots is the second highest ranked Caribbean team at 78th, followed by St. Kitts and Nevis who are down 7 places to joint 80th with the Cape Verde Islands.
Costa Rica, following their 4-0 thrashing of the United States is now the highest ranked CONCACAF team at 17.
Previous leaders Mexico are down a place to 18 with the United States down 4 spots to 28.
Other CONCACAF teams inside the top 100 are Panama (58), Haiti (69), Curacao (75) and Antigua and Barbuda (82).
Argentina retains the top spot globally while Brazil are now second with world champions Germany third and Chile and Belgium completing the top 5.
