Reggae Boy Andre Blake Continues to Impress

Jamaican international footballer Andre Blake continues to impress with his heroic feats between the sticks.

The goalkeeper who made his Jamaica senior national team starting debut two years ago was recently named Midseason Goalkeeper of the Year for his exploits on the field for the first half of 2016.

Blake is currently in his third season with his club – the Philadelphia Union in Major League Soccer (MLS) – the sport’s highest level in both the United States and Canada.

During his tenure at the club, the talented Jamaican has made numerous incredible saves and as a result is now regarded as the best shot stopper in the league by many fans of the sport.

This season, the 25-year-old has averaged over three saves per game with an impressive total of  82 stopped shots thus far.

On September 26, 2015, playing against New England Revolution, Blake set a Union team record for saves in a match with 10 stops to preserve a 1-1 draw.
