He Hit Her Again
He hit her again last night,
It wasn’t a fight,
Was pretty much one sided,
When her face and his fist collided.
She is long past trying to make sense
Of all this nonsense,
And momma tells her stay cause ,
He is a good provider.
Turn a black eye … I mean a blind eye,
But last night, all hell broke loose,
She put an end to all the abuse.
The beating was not meant to be,
He became the screaming banshee.
She couldn’t take it anymore,
And fury was what she had in store.
No more punches or kicks,
Oh no!.… that problem she fixed.
Now he has scars to remind him daily
and mental pictures of friends reading his obituary.
And now she is gone
He is his own crippled in a hospital bed all-alone.
Don’t know if this gave him insight
But one thing is for sure,
He won’t be hitting her tonight.

Parents do major harm to their kids and, quite often, the parents don’t even realize it. Not only physically, but mentally, psychologically and spiritually. I suggest that, as a parent, check yourself as to what you are telling and showing your children. “Tradition” is not always good, and “because…” is not always an answer. I wish I knew the author, I would ask permission to use this poem in a video.
AS AN ADULT YOU HAVE TO DECIDE WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU IN SITUATIONS SUCH AS THIS IN WHICH YOUR LIFE IS IN DANGER.
