Ronaldo Webster Named in Concacaf Nations League Group Stage Best XI

Jamaican defender Ronaldo Webster has been named in the Concacaf Nations League A Best XI following his performances during the recently concluded group stage.

Webster was the only Reggae Boy selected after starting all four matches as Jamaica finished second in Group B with seven points from two wins, one draw and one defeat, securing qualification for November’s quarter-finals.

The defender recorded 17 tackles and five interceptions during the campaign, earning recognition for his contributions to Jamaica’s defensive line.

Curaçao and Haiti dominated the Best XI, with three players each.

Curaçao’s representatives include brothers Leandro and Juninho Bacuna, alongside winger Kenji Gorré. Juninho contributed two goals and three assists during the group stage, while Gorré scored four goals in four appearances.

Haiti’s selections were striker Wilson Isidor, midfielder Danley Jean Jacques and goalkeeper Alexandre Pierre. Isidor registered three goals and two assists, while Pierre made 15 saves in three appearances.

Guatemala had two representatives in defender Aaron Herrera and forward Jehú Fajardo, while Dominican Republic midfielder Heinz Mörschel and Honduran defender Luis Vega completed the line-up.

Jamaica’s qualification followed victories over Guatemala and El Salvador, a defeat to Honduras in Kingston and a draw in the return fixture in Tegucigalpa.

The Reggae Boyz will now turn their attention to a two-legged quarter-final showdown against regional powerhouse Mexico in November, with a place in the Nations League semi-finals at stake.

Webster’s inclusion provides individual recognition for Jamaica despite the team having just one representative in the tournament’s Best XI.
