Reggae Boyz Defender Dexter Lembikisa Signs Loan Deal with Swiss Club Yverdon-Sport FC

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Reggae Boyz defender Dexter Lembikisa is set to broaden his European football experience after securing a season-long loan deal with Swiss club Yverdon-Sport FC.

The move, confirmed by Wolves via their website on Monday, marks a new chapter in Lembikisa’s career following previous loan spells.

Wolves’ head of professional football development, Matt Jackson, expressed his satisfaction with Lembikisa’s decision to embrace the opportunity.

“This is going to be a different type of loan for Dexter from what he experienced last year with Rotherham and Hearts, and I’m really pleased that he’s jumped at this opportunity to expand his own horizons,” said Jackson.

Jackson highlighted the technical nature of the Swiss league compared to the fast-paced, intense environment of the English Championship and Scottish Premiership.

“He showed he can play in the Championship with that frenetic pace and intensity they have, the same with the Scottish Premiership,” he added.

In addition to his club career, Lembikisa has gained valuable international experience with the Jamaica national team, which he will continue to build upon during his time in Switzerland.

The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) also congratulated Lembikisa on his loan move.
