Jamaica Tops Group B with 2-1 Win Over Honduras in CONCACAF Nations League
Jamaica secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Honduras on Tuesday night in the 2024/25 CONCACAF Nations League, propelling them to the top of Group B in League A as the September match window came to a close.
The hard-fought win at Estadio Nacional Chelato Uclés in Tegucigalpa saw Jamaica move ahead in the standings, while Honduras dropped to third place.
The Reggae Boyz opened the scoring in the 49th minute when a dangerous ball from Norman Campbell forced Honduras’ Denil Maldonado into an own goal.
However, Honduras responded swiftly, equalising just a minute later through David Ruiz, who finished from close range.
Despite the setback, Jamaica continued to press, and in the 76th minute, Michael Antonio converted a penalty to seal the victory.
With this result, Jamaica now sits in first place in Group B with four points from two matches. Honduras, with one point, is in third place, one point behind the leaders.
