Reggae Boy Michail Antonio On Target For West Ham
Newcastle United clinched a dramatic come from behind 4-3 victory against West Ham United at St James’ Park today.
The match unfolded into a pulsating affair, with Michail Antonio showcasing his dangerous hold up play early on.
The Jamaican international scored in the 21st minute after Alexander Isak’s early penalty handed Newcastle the lead.
Antonio’s clinical finish brought the scoreline to 1-1 before Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen fired the Hammers into a commanding position (3-1).
However, the tide turned in the 67th minute as Eddie Howe’s tactical masterstroke saw the introduction of Harvey Barnes, returning from injury, who proved to be the catalyst for Newcastle’s resurgence.
Barnes, hailed by Howe as “incredible,” displayed his goal-scoring ability by netting a brace in quick succession, including a stunning 90th-minute goal that sent St James’ Park into raptures.
Anthony Gordon scored four minutes into stoppage time to seal the victory for Newcastle.
