Jamaican Stars Parchment and Williams Set to Shine in Wanda Diamond League Opener

Jamaican track and field sensations, Olympic champion Hansle Parchment and World Champion Danielle Williams, are poised to ignite the track at the Wanda Diamond League season opener in Xiamen, China, on April 20.

Parchment and Williams lead a formidable lineup of athletes ready to showcase their talent on the international stage.

Parchment is set to face off against USA’s Daniel Roberts, the World Championships bronze medallist, in the men’s 110 metres hurdles, promising an electrifying competition.

Meanwhile, Williams will grace the women’s 100 metres event, joining a stellar cast including reigning Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico, Eugene World Champion Tobi Amusan of Nigeria, and newly minted World Indoor record holder Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas.

The clash between Jamaican and American sprinters will add further excitement to the event, with Jamaica’s contingent featuring the likes of 2011 World Champion Yohan Blake, World Championships relay bronze medallist Ackeem Blake, and national champion Rohan Watson.

On the other hand, the USA boasts former world 100-metre champions Fred Kerley and Christian Coleman.

Adding to the spectacle, World 100-metre champion Sha’Carri Richardson is confirmed to compete in the women’s 200 metres event.
