Dujuan Richards Scores First Goal For Chelsea in Premier League Two
On Friday, Dujuan ‘Whisper’ Richards marked his presence in Premier League Two with a stellar performance, netting his maiden goal for Chelsea in a commanding 7-1 victory over Newcastle United.
Despite previously featuring as a substitute in five Under-21 games without scoring, Richards seized his moment in the 73rd minute, replacing Leo Castledine.
The former Kingston College standout skillfully maneuvered past a defender before curling a precise left-footed shot into the far corner, extending Chelsea’s lead to 5-1.
Richards, who also contributes to Chelsea’s Under-18 squad, has been gradually acclimating to the professional ranks since his debut.
Renowned for his exploits during the 2022 schoolboy football season, where he notched over 30 goals, Richards made headlines with his senior international debut at the age of 17, clinching his first international goal against Trinidad and Tobago during the Gold Cup last year.
His promising talent attracted Chelsea’s attention, leading to a pre-contract agreement in March 2023, which materialised upon his 18th birthday.
His move to Chelsea was confirmed in January.
