Allyson Felix Visits Jamaica for ‘Babymoon’, Reflects on Treasured Memories

Retired American track star Allyson Felix, accompanied by her husband Kenneth, recently embarked on a serene vacation to Jamaica.

The couple, eagerly anticipating the arrival of their second child later this year, seized the opportunity to unwind and immerse themselves in the breathtaking beauty of the island.

For Felix, bidding adieu to her illustrious track career at the conclusion of the 2022 season marked the beginning of a new chapter, yet it also prompted a nostalgic journey back to Jamaica, a place deeply intertwined with her athletic journey.

Jamaica, renowned for its formidable sprinters, witnessed some of Felix’s most intense competitions against rivals like Veronica Campbell Brown and Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce.

Sharing her Jamaican experience on Instagram, the retired sprinter reminisced about her remarkable 22-year journey, adorned with a plethora of gold medals garnered from global championships, including seven Olympic and 14 World championships gold medals.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Felix shared, “22 years ago, I went to Jamaica for the World Junior Championships and met my now-husband on that team.

I also fell in love with the incredible people and the beautiful country.

Even though they always cheered against me, I honestly feel so appreciated when I am here. It was only right for us to come back for our babymoon. Jamaica will forever hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for all of the love and hospitality, Jamaica.”

Felix’s sentiments resonated deeply within the athletic community, eliciting responses from fellow athletes, including Jamaican sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce, who warmly welcomed Felix “home.”

Embracing the warm camaraderie, Felix responded, “@realshellyannfp definitely! Hahahah always good to be home.”
